Over the years, The Perth Mint has introduced innovative coins that incorporate color, diamonds and precious metal inserts. Now, the Perth Mint presents a breathtaking new patent-protected concept in numismatics with the amazing Crown Jewels silver “locket coin.” The world’s first coin to contain free-moving parts, the Crown Jewels “locket coin” features a glittering array of rubies, sapphires and cubic zirconia, which move freely in the center of this pure silver coin. The jewels were chosen to reflect the colors of the precious stones used in the famous Crown Jewels.

The coin’s reverse design depicts examples of coronation regalia — crowns, scepter, sovereign’s orb, and ampulla. Each coin also contains 1-1⁄2 carats of polished stones. The coins are minted from 99.9% pure silver and are issued under the authority of the Government of the Cook Islands. The obverse depicts the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination $1. Plus, each Proof-like coin comes beautifully displayed in a colorful presentation case.
