Bolshevik Silver Coins and Folding Money!
Pure communism needs no money, but this was only a dream in Russia. In 1917 the Bolshevik government issued this 1,000 rouble note with a Swastika as the central feature—a symbol of good luck at the time! Later, Lenin issued these 10, 15, and 20 Kopek silver coins to facilitate commerce. These are the only silver coins struck by the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic—a few years later it became the U.S.S.R. Somehow, these historic coins escaped Stalin’s great silver meltdown. These tough to find Russian collectibles have slowly trickled out of Russia since the fall of communism.
