In 2008, to celebrate the removal of the Bald Eagle from the Endangered Species List and to honor the 35th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, the U.S. Mint struck these Bald Eagle Silver Dollars in both Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof condition.

These 2008 Silver Bald Eagle Dollars were minted and are now sold out at the Mint. Today, these Bald Eagle Dollars can be as hard to find as the bird was 35 years ago!

Even more difficult to locate are 2008 Bald Eagle Silver Dollars graded near-perfect Proof 69 ! The 2008 Bald Eagle Silver Dollars are comparable to the mintages of the recent 2009 Lincoln Silver Dollar and the 2001 Buffalo Silver Dollar. The 2001 Silver Buffalo (PF69) has increased in value 1500% since it was issued. In years to come, these just as scarce Proof Silver Bald Eagles could be just as sought after by collectors.
